Bookham Scouting Centre was built in 2009 following years of fundraising as the new headquarters for 1st and 3rd Bookham Scout Groups. The groups has previously met on constricted site next to Dawnay School in two delapilated buildings which did not meet the needs of modern scouting.

The land for the new building was purchased from Surrey County Council in the early 1990s and was in regular use for outside activities until sufficient funds had been raised to commence the building work.
